Huge Beams Define Kitchen
This kitchen posed a unique challenge, as it is situated on a private island. Access was limited to open season, so timing was crucial for both field measurements and install. The house was built to mimic the keel of a boat, with large posts leading to the cathedral ceiling in an arch, as if a boat turned upside down. We designed the cabinets to incorporate these beautiful beams, accentuating rather than hiding. The client chose all drawers at the base cabinets for ease of use and maximum storage. The final touch of sea glass knobs was a perfect connection to the sea glass found abundantly along the island’s shores.
